Janina Leo | Clinical Psychologist

Janina Leo is a compassionate and highly experienced Clinical Psychologist with a deep commitment to helping people live more connected, meaningful, and empowered lives. As the founder and principal psychologist at Wagtail Psychology, Janina brings over a decade of experience across public, private, and community mental health settings, supporting adults with a wide range of emotional, psychological, and behavioural challenges.

She holds a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Psychology, and a Master of Psychology (Clinical), and is a fully registered Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Janina is also an NDIS-approved Behaviour Support Practitioner, with particular expertise in trauma-informed care and positive behaviour support.

Janina works with clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and stress-related concerns. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based models, and she integrates a range of modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).

Her style is collaborative, thoughtful, and gently empowering. Janina understands that healing is not one-size-fits-all, and she works alongside each client to build safety, self-awareness, and meaningful change at their own pace. She is particularly passionate about helping clients connect with their values, develop emotional resilience, and reclaim a sense of agency in their lives.

Whether you are seeking therapy for the first time or returning to deepen your self-work, Janina brings warmth, skill, and a deep understanding of the complexities of the human experience.
